How do you feel about meatloaf?

“In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again.

You need milk, not solid food!”

Hebrews 5:12

I love meatloaf, but...

James went to Jeff’s house for a sleepover. Jeff’s mom was fixing dinner and asked James if he liked meatloaf. “I love meatloaf,” James said. At dinner that evening the mom noticed James wasn’t eating. “I thought you liked meatloaf,” the concerned mom asked. “I do, I love meatloaf,” James assured her, “just not enough to eat it.”

Sadly, this too often describes the life of many Christians. Our BEHAVIOR FOR Jesus doesn’t align with our BELIEF IN Jesus.

Lots of Excuses

Most of my life, I avoided serving God in areas that made me uncomfortable. I had many excuses. Mostly I assumed if it made me uncomfortable then it must be something I am not equipped to do.

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that, “His power is made perfect in our weakness.”

I’ve come to learn if we only do things in our comfort zones, we limit both our personal growth in Christ and Christ’s opportunity to be glorified.

Here’s Your Challenge

Don’t limit God by limiting yourself, "by this time you ought to be teachers.”

We are praying MD5 will be a catalyst for men to grow from disciples to disciple makers.

Opportunities abound, but too few men are stepping up. Will you step up? You have everything you need. You have the knowledge. You have the Holy Spirit. Do you have the faith?

  • Don’t succumb to fear.

  • Don’t buy the lie that you aren’t capable.

  • Don’t limit God.

There is no better feeling than knowing you are being used by God in such a way the only explanation is God himself.

It’s time to eat meatloaf!
