What kind of friends do you have?

"Wounds from a friend can be trusted,

but an enemy multiplies kisses."

Proverbs 27:6

Friendship Building

In the Friends Module, we explore why men often have few close friends and how to build lasting relationships with other men.

Remember, the goal of the Fitness “F” isn’t necessarily about physical strength but about growing and preserving the energy that God gives us to live a life focused on others.

The Struggle is Real

Many men struggle with finding and developing friends. One reason is because society often discourages men from being real with people. As a result, a lack of close friends can lead to isolation and poor mental health. Which Satan loves to see.

How to Build Lasting Friendships

To help men develop and deepen friendships, we draw wisdom from the book of Proverbs, highlighting the marks of true friendship:

  1. Constancy: A true friend is always there, providing unwavering support through good times and bad.

  2. Carefulness: A true friend is considerate and mindful of your feelings, showing empathy and understanding.

  3. Candor: Honesty is essential. A true friend tells the truth with love, even when it’s difficult.

  4. Counsel: A true friend offers wise advice and guidance, helping you navigate life’s challenges.

The Bottom Line

By making Jesus your friend and the desire of your heart, you will have all the friends your heart needs. However, this spiritual connection provides a foundation for building meaningful, lasting friendships with others.

In other words, love God and love others. Building lasting relationships takes effort, but the rewards of a life filled with meaningful discipleship connections are worth it!
