"Man must not live on bread alone
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:4
Are you on the supplement bandwagon?
Supplements are everywhere—promising better energy, immune support, muscle gains, and a longer life. They’re especially appealing when life is busy, food is expensive, and meal prep feels like a chore. Just pop a pill or blend a shake and call it a day.
Sounds efficient, right? But here’s the truth: I’m not a doctor, dietitian, or health coach, but I can say with confidence—supplements are not sustenance.
Physically and spiritually, that principle holds true.
Supplements can help fill in nutritional gaps, but they can’t replace real food. They may meet short-term needs, but they’re no substitute for long-term nourishment.
Supplements are fast and easy, but not complete. They often lack the full spectrum of micronutrients, fiber, and antioxidants your body needs to thrive.
Supplements can’t undo a poor diet. You can’t out-supplement processed food, sugar overload, and sedentary habits.
Real food fuels lasting health. God designed what our bodies need—meat and fish, fruits and vegetables, legumes and grains, seeds and nuts. Whole foods are His original provision for our well-being.
The same truth applies to our spiritual lives.
“It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4
Don’t supplement the Bible. Consume it.
In our spiritual walk, it’s tempting to live off "supplements"—books, podcasts, music, speakers. These can enrich our faith, but they are not replacements for God’s Word.
We need the full sustenance of Scripture, daily and directly. There are no shortcuts. No better alternative. No spiritual superfood more complete than the Bible. God’s Word is the bread of life. It nourishes your soul in a way nothing else can, and no one else can digest it for you.
Choose real over processed. Tested over fads. God has already provided what you truly need. Consume it. Daily. Directly. Let sustenance—not supplements—fuel your health and holiness.
