Is it time to reprioritize?

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV

Let's Review

Do you feel stressed out, overloaded, tired, and burned out?  Maybe you need to take a step back and examine your habits and level of margin in your daily routine.

Yep, this week we are reviewing the need for Margin and Habits.

You’ve Heard It Said

During MD5 you heard the quote by Craig Groeschel – “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.”

Well, I believe it is also true that if you show me your daily habits, I can show you your future. It’s in the daily routines that we create our future self.

Compounding Effect of Consistency

I’m in much better shape spiritually, mentally, and physically today at age 56 than I was at 46. Why?  Because I started the daily habits of Bible reading and exercise.

Doing small things daily over decades will produce great results.

Craig Groeschel also said – “Successful people do consistently what other people do occasionally.”

The Truth

The best time to start a good habit is much like planting a tree. The best time is 20 years ago. But the second-best time is TODAY!

We are all busy…maybe you are too busy. Take some time to examine your daily routine and habits. Stack a couple habits together that will produce the greatest results over time. Then say ‘No” to anything that tries to derail you.

Apply It

Why do we need these habits that create margin for us? So that we can have enough of ourselves left over each day, week, and month to give to our LORD (Faith), Family and Friends.

In your life and profession how can you be more consistent? What habit can you focus on? Make a commitment to take consistent daily action and start the compounding process and you’ll reap the benefits of this compounding in the future.

"Teach us to number our days, so that we may gain a heart of wisdom." -  Psalm 90:12 (NIV)
