"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Painful Truth

Dr. Thad Hardin has told MD5 groups for many years that one of the greatest areas of passivity in a man’s life is the lack of intentionality around his health. We tend to passively neglect creating a relationship with a primary care physician. We neglect setting up annual wellness checks, colonoscopies, and prostate exams. If it weren’t for our wives most of us (including me) would never see the inside of a doctor’s office.

Passivity Can Kill

Several years ago, a friend of mine had a heart attack and he was only 51 years old. I went to visit him at the Arkansas Heart Hospital and learned that there were nine other men in his wing that had suffered heart attacks with the oldest being only 53 years old.

That inspired me to write a flashback to encourage the men of MD5 to schedule a heart health assessment. Several MD5 took me up on the challenge and scheduled an assessment. The assessments revealed several things that led to some follow-up visits and lifestyle changes.

Your Challenge

It's now time once again to challenge you men to accept responsibility for your health and reject passivity. I’m not only challenging you to schedule an appointment for yourself, but I also want you to hold two men accountable to do the same. Below is the information you need to set-up an appointment.

Please jump on this now. If you call today, it will be the first quarter of 2026 before you can get an assessment. Reject passivity and don’t delay. You have a lot of people depending on you being intentional about your health.
